About
An idea that grew into an engineering practice.
We started in 2014 combining graphic design and software development. Today the design half is out of the catalog, and the software half became the business.
The shift
What we stopped doing, and why we say it out loud.
For years Editando Ideas presented itself as a creative agency: design, websites, apps, advertising, and print in one list. That mix no longer represents the technical level of the work or where the company is going.
Out of the catalog
- SEO strategy and paid search campaigns.
- Social media management.
- Logo design and corporate identity.
- Ongoing content production.
- Print services.
What the company focuses on
- Technology consulting, product discovery, and architecture.
- Development of websites, platforms, and Flutter applications.
- Cloud on Google Cloud, Firebase, and DigitalOcean.
- Adobe Experience Manager as a specialized practice.
- Technology talent and dedicated cells.
Those services are still necessary, and there are agencies that do them better than we would. We work alongside them as an engineering partner instead of competing for their accounts.

Track record
Twelve years, told through what changed.
Confirmed milestones only. The dates and figures come from our own records.
2014 — 2015
Two disciplines and a bet
Editando Ideas started where graphic design met software development. Two founders left their jobs and began with 30,000 pesos, print equipment, a website, and word of mouth. In 2015 came the client that changed the trajectory: a corporate training company that pushed the work toward software.
2016 — 2017
Engineering separates from design
The brands split by type of work and software gets an identity of its own. The first custom system is built: an ERP grounded in a client’s actual business rules. These are the years that still have active client relationships behind them.
2018
The platform year
Development begins on a learning platform for a national medical residency exam: web, Android and iOS apps, admin panel, and online store. It reached 6,000 users in its first five months and is still in production. The design and software brands merge into a single company.
2019 — 2021
Consulting and distributed work
The work shifts toward advisory and technical support. In 2020 the operation goes fully remote and never goes back: distributed work stops being a contingency and becomes the method.
2026
The refocus
Editando Ideas declares itself an engineering and technology talent consultancy. The design and advertising catalog is retired, catalog pricing is retired, and the site is rebuilt bilingual and accessible as the first demonstration of the change.
Principles
How we work.
Judgment over catalog
We recommend what solves the problem, even when it is less work for us. Saying "you do not need this" is part of the service.
Clear about the limits
We say what we cannot do and what we will not promise. An unverifiable claim gets found in the first due diligence call and costs the whole contract.
If it was not written down, it did not happen
Documentation is not bureaucracy: it is what lets someone else continue the work, and what lets you change vendors if that ever suits you.
Built to be maintained
We work as if we had to keep this system running for three years. Usually we do.
Learning with judgment
We adopt technology when it solves something, not when it appears. We would rather name few tools and answer for all of them.
How we operate
Remote since 2020, with a method.
This is not an office policy: it is why we can work with teams outside Mexico without the distance showing.
- Sync windows agreed in writing, not improvised meetings.
- Documented asynchronous communication by default.
- We work inside the client’s repository, board, and ceremonies.
- Mexico City runs on UTC−6 all year: scheduling is predictable.

Podcast
How we managed to start a company
El Justo y 1/2 invited us on to tell how Editando Ideas began: the first two years, the calls that went wrong, and what we would do differently. Half an hour with no sales script. The episode is in Spanish.

Let's build something useful.
If the challenge fits, we will say so. If it does not, we will say that too.
